The Gadoman Knights are not knights from tales of old England. We instead are making a tangible difference in our communities based on our motto:

Learning, Growth, and Service

We are a group for Learning: we each grow through our learning and service. Further, we encourage the continuing education of our members. Personal growth is encouraged through our Basic Courses (BCs). These are listed below.

We are a group for Growth our message board is a place  where everyone is invited to trade ideas, have in depth discussions, and to be mentored in specific areas. Here everyone learns, from the newest Tyro to the oldest Chapter Knight, and all are invited to discuss what they truly feel; all ideas are listened to courteously at the Gadoman Knights. We discuss such things as philosophy, psychokenisis, conduct, meditaiton, demeanor, morals, health topics, alternative healing, and ethics. This is certainly a place for many to get together, to discuss, debate, learn, teach, and/or just relax.

We are a group for Service: Each Gadoman member is expected to do at least 6 service projects each year be that picking up trash in a parking lot, doing good deeds in your own home, or building a house with Habitat for Humanity. Some examples are listed below. We support any good cause, such as saving the rain forests, the Optimist Club, and the Nature Conservancy.

The word Gadoman is the Japanese word for Guard or Guardian.
We try to not offend any peoples and so use the word Ineffable as a definition for such things as Life Force and Ki/Chi or God/Allah/Mother Nature/etc.

If you have more questions on the Gadoman Knights, please visit our contact page and e-mail us. We will be glad to answer any questions.

Examples of service projects performed in 2002 by Gadoman members:

1. I chauffeured some sweet lil' ol' feisty ladies to and from (a distant city). It was more joy than service.
2. A couple of other chauffeuring times.
3. I'm letting a healer friend of mine use my treatment table no charge.
4. Helped clean an apartment that a friend was moving out of.
5. Took a Grandma to the hospital so she could be with her daughter.
6. Volunteered my time at the Red Cross Blood Drive (I cannot donate blood.)

___ * ___

1. doing out reach at a nursing home
2. being a volunteer staff member for my pathfinder club
3. being a deaconess in my church
4. helping out at the (message) board
5. donate hair to locks of love: www.locksoflove.com <www.locksoflove.com>
They supply wigs to children with no hair. You have to donate a minimum of 10 inches.
6. joined a knitting circle in which everything we knit will be donated to charities.

___ * ___

1. Volunteering for Make-A-Wish.
3. Making monetary donations to charity.
4. Going above & beyond at work. My co-workers seem to do the "bare minimum" which is, I suppose, all that is really expected from us. Being a good customer servant though, it is my goal to go above and beyond for the students who use the lab... and serve as a good representative of the University.
5. Saying "Hello" or smiling at people I pass... especially if I don't know them.

___ * ___

1. I am a mentor at my school. This means that four times a week during school time I visit a class of 11-12 year olds and help them to integrate into their new school and hopefully help the teachers to deal with them
2. I'm helping with a local 'Youth Directory'. A guy (name removed) has asked me to help. It's a directory of activities teenagers in my local area can do, and I'm helping with suggestions to update it.
3. I'm applying for a millenium grant for a project in my local area. They give you up to £10,000, and my project is recycling and composting.
4. I'm serving on the school council, which is a student body voice.
5. Further to that, I'm helping with the anti-bullying committee by drawing up a proposal
6. I'm serving as a counselor at the (message board)...does that count?

___ * ___

And a select few from 2003:

3. Being a staff member for my youth group.
4. Being a Deaconess in my Church.
5. Helping my mom with the chores and grocery shopping.
6. Making sure my sisters get their mail.
7. Helping my mom make quilts for kids in Africa.
___ * ___

1. Volunteered for Windows Harvest
2. Built Wheelchair ramps for the disabled
3. Donated canned food for the poor
4. Volunteered to time at Swim Meets
5. Volunteered at a book sale and took over when head librarian became ill
6. Coastal Clean Up
